Meeting Students
This past month I’ve been able to meet a lot of new students! We have been having a question board asking some questions to engage with students, make some new friends, and invite them into a Jesus-centered community. I didn’t take many pictures except for after, but here’s the responses we got!
The question on the board above is “What is your favorite thing about fall?” This was a popular one and we had some good conversations from this one!
The question on the board for the week above was “What is success?” This was the most recent question board we had. We had one student come by and say that “she loves coming by to talk to us.” It is so neat that people have remembered us! We hope students will know us as Christians who ask questions, listen to others, and love people who stop to talk to us.
Making Friends
This is Juan Duron. He is a guy I got to meet at one of our discussion boards and now I’m getting to study the Bible with him! He loves Jesus and has a heart for youth ministry. He is a thoughtful, kind, and a fun-loving guy. I’m thankful for his heart for God and teens and I’m glad I get to be his friend this year!
This is Anthony Trevino. He is also a student at Collin College I’m studying the Bible with. (I forgot to take a picture with him, so this is him with his family at the Alamo). Anthony is the sweetest, most servant-hearted friend you could have. If you asked him for a ride to Alaska he’d probably drive you there (or at least drive you part of the way). Anthony is quick to ask me about my week or day and responds quickly (and with a good attitude) to any help I’ve ever needed. I’m thankful to call him a friend.
Thank you again for your support! I wouldn’t get to meet and love these students without YOUR support!
Austin Bailey was my first friend in college and now is a coworker of mine! He is a goofball, a faithful friend, and loves people like Jesus does. He was a key part in my faith and now relationship with Jesus. I’ve gotten to hang out with him and work with him a lot this past month. I’m thankful to call him a friend and a coworker. (This is a picture of us 4 years ago. Never get a permanent face tattoo, even with a friend.)
Prayer Requests
If you could right now or throughout your month, join me in praying over a few things:
- Pray over the students I’m getting to disciple. That they see God for who He is in Scripture and can fall more in love with Jesus.
- Pray over anxiety, depression, loneliness for students at Collin College. Jesus came to heal the sick and the hurting and we are eager to take part in that!
Each month I’ll post an image like this below about a student’s testimony from our ministry!
In love,
Austin
